My favorite technique is watercolor, as those who follow me or have read my books already know.

I love watercolor precisely because of the ‘magic’ created by the water, which guides the color across the paper, creating pictorial effects that are always new and, often, unexpected.

I use traditional watercolor but also digital watercolor, which allows me to experiment with more freedom without too much fear of making mistakes.

As the illustrator Gianni De Conno used to say: ‘When I want to get my hands dirty, I use paint and brushes, while professionally I often use digital…’

I also love painting digitally, especially since I discovered the digital painting software Rebelle by Escape Motions. The potential of this software allows me to have a workflow and a painting method very similar to the traditional one: there is a ‘Water’ tool that lets you wet the digital ‘paper’ just like you do in traditional painting, a ‘Drying’ tool, and also one to ‘Tilt the canvas’ as if we were really doing it with the sheet of paper.

I abandoned Photoshop for digital painting and now I only use Rebelle.

Precisely because it is less known and used than Photoshop, I like to share tutorials to spread the ‘hidden’ potential of Rebelle.

I’m linking you to some videos from my YouTube channel, and if you are interested in staying up to date, subscribe to the channel :)”
