Private Commissions: Illustrated Book “Tia”
This delicate book, which aunt C. decided to give to her niece as a gift for the birth of her little sister, was a very special private commission.
C. contacted me to create this children’s book, providing me with a wonderful text that tells a beautiful portrait of her sister’s family.
I used the photographs I received to illustrate the characters based on real images, as well as the locations featured in the story.
These commissions always move me deeply, because they allow me to take part in a small piece of the life of the person commissioning the work—their emotions and a fragment of their personal story. A beautiful relationship of trust is always created, and when the final book is delivered it leaves me with a touch of melancholy. I am happy, though, to have helped create such a special object that will remain in the hearts of C. and her family for a long time.
